ArrayWell you've said it yourself, that you hate Hendry and Zell, and they are both involved in running the team, y'know? I'm not sayin I'm just sayin.
Yea, I hate them both, but do they run the team into the ground like Peter Angelos is doing?
First off, it was not a shot at anybody, it's just the truth, and you know it. You say Hendry is so bad as a GM and we all know they haven't won since the Last Supper, so they are clearly the worst franchise.

Secondly, the Pirates may be bad, but they have 5 World Series titles alltime. Also, give them an 18 W SP and another 14 W SP to go along with Snell and Gorzelanny, with a sneaky good offense and a beautiful park, and they could get 2nd or 3rd in the horses*** NL Central.

Lastly, the Orioles have 3 World titles all time, 1 more then the Cubs. They play in the 2nd best division in baseball and will never win b/c of the Yankees or Red Sox.

BTW, the Sox have more wins then the Cubs in the past 4 years, and 1 more World Championship, so no, you can't say they are the worst franchise.
ArrayWorst franchises in the 4 major sports:
MLB- Cubs
NFL- Raiders
NBA- Kncisk
NHL- Blackhawks:(
Yet they are still #1 in the city of Chicago (could be green... but its a fact)

Yes it's off topic, yes it will continue this flame war... but how can you expect this not to happen with that unneeded comment?

BTW the worst franchise should probably be judged on fan support and profits (Why cubs are no where near the bottom) just as much as winning... This would remove the Cubs and Knicks... The Raiders are a mess period, honestly I don't know enough about NHL to even comment there.
To be honest, the Cubs have been pretty poorly run for the past century with the exception of recent years and a few teams, such as the Santo teams, and the late 80s teams. If we are talking current franchises, the Cubs are definitely not the worst in the MLB... look at the Pirates, Orioles, Royals, Devil Rays.

MLB- When you haven't won a championship through the end of Teddy Roosevelt's presidency, The Great War, the Roaring '20s, the Great Depression, World War II, the rise of the Berlin Wall, the Korean War, the Kennedy assassination, the Vietnam War, Watergate, Reaganomics, the fall of communism, the rise of the Information Age, you are the worst franchise in your sport.

NFL/NBA- No disputes there.

NHL- For years thanks to Old Man Wirtz, they were. Under New Man Wirtz, not for long. I can see great things coming for this franchise.

So b/c the Sawks and Sox have only recently broken long title droughts that automatically makes them good run franchises?

<span style="color:#006400">YES!

And the Marlins are an elite franchise because they have won 2 World Series in the past 12 years.

The Yankees = the Reds because they have ZERO titles since 2001!!!

Not saying the Sox were much better, but at least they had a streak of nearly 20 straight above .500 seasons in the 50s and 60s. Take away those damn Yankees in the 1950s and early 1960s and the Sox might have won six pennants in that span instead of only one in 1959.

Oh yea, well if MLB had the 4-team a league playoff format in the late 60 and early 70s when we had winning seasons, we'd have been in the playoffs, and we MIGHT have won the 69 World Series. I guess b/c the O's won a World Series that makes them better run than the Cubs? Peter Angelos is a horrible owner, he doesn't know anything
