Sox-Cubs 2006 Brawl looks puny now...

ArrayNo, whenever someone broke away the ref would call offsides. Whenever the other team had one, I'd just kick back, and they'd get called offsides[/quote]
If the ball has already been kicked, and the defense is in line with the other player being passed to, and he breaks away its not offsides.

But lets say the defense is all the way up, and the attacker is way behind them trying to score, and the player with passes the ball, its offsides because it prevents Cherry picking. It has nothing to with lazy defense. Hell soccer teams set up offside trap plays on purpose.

Offsides is a dumb rule in soccer. You want to prevent cherrypicking, make it illegal, but when you're not just standing there, why should it matter where the D is? I manage to outrun the D, and get open, why should a teammate not be allowed to boot it to me to kick it in? That's not cherrypicking.

That would be too hard of a judgement call to make. There would be so many arguments over it. If it would be such an obvious dumb rule, it would have been changed.

You can break as hard as you want to the other goal, and your player can blast it to you, as long as you didn't pass the defense before the ball was in the air, it's fine.

You can find questionable rules in any sport really. <!--fontc-->

Well offsides in soccer is a dumb one. What if b-ball had such a rule? You wouldn't see any of those breakaways. The offsides rule rewards bad defense.

You are comparing two completely different sports when trying to make this arguement.

No I'm not. It's the same concept. You break away from the D, they just got to kick back and it's offsides

Yes, there is a huge difference when comparing these 2. Soccer players don't play both ends of the field like basketball players do.<!--fontc--><!--/fontc-->
